Quick sum-up August 23, 2010
For once I actually have a reasonably good excuse to not update this thing. It’s not out of laziness this time! Progress, my friends.
Things have been crazy busy lately, which is a good thing. I would definitely rather have lots to do than not enough to do. As long as that “lots” doesn’t have stress attached to it. So instead of posting an insanely-long update on what I’ve been doing, I’ll give you the short version.
1. South Korea was wonderful! Their subway system is crazy and the many stairs/hills almost killed me. Seoul Tower is a must-see. Jennifer Sutherland was a great host. I loved seeing some of my Korean Doulos friends. Best piece of advice when traveling to South Korea: don’t try to pose with the guards at the palace…you’ll get in trouble.
2. Directly after my trip we had office meetings. They were good (until I got sick) and it was so nice to finally meet the rest of the team (some of them live in different countries)!
3. Papua New Guinea…please go visit! The people there are amazingly sweet! Spending time with them and seeing their passion for the Word was encouraging. I’m ready to go back and visit the highlands area next time.
4. 36 hours in Singapore = bliss. For those who have been living under a rock (or are just not good at picking up my vague references), I have a boyfriend. His name is Clarence. He’s from Singapore. And he’s amazing. We met on the Doulos and were very good friends for awhile before it developed into something more. He’ll be coming home with me in a month for my brother’s wedding so if you’re in Lynchburg you’ll get to meet him then.
5. I am an aunt…again. This makes five. Caiden Nash Ladd was born on August 16th and is absolutely adorable! I can’t wait to hold him. I might be almost as excited as his big brother, Gavin.
6. The hair. I’ll let the before and after pictures speak for themselves. A treatment that was very much needed!
Up next? This weekend a group of us from work will be traveling to another part of the Philippines to research for a story we’ll be video capturing in a few weeks. Excited does not begin to explain my feelings for this video project. I’ll give you more on that later. I think you’ve got enough to fill your plates for now!

Your hair-picture looks like photoshop.
(I’d love to go to Korea once again… the N Seoul Tower is indeed a must see, great view from above)
I’m wowed by the hair too
Not that everything else isn’t interesting to see.. but really, your before and after shots make for great advertising. So now I’m curious to know what treatment that was, and where can I get one too?
It’s called the Keratin Smoothing Treatment. It’s kind of expensive. $150 US but in the US it’s about $300. It’s supposed to last 3-5 months. Research it. Pretty amazing
