I made it to the Philippines! January 27, 2009
It’s true, I made it. It was a long journey (though I must say that Singapore Airlines rocks!) We have one week of training here at a hotel in Cebu and then we will go to the ship on Sunday and move all of our stuff on…finally! I am rooming with three, beautiful, amazing girls. One from South Korea, one from the Philippines, and one from Cambodia. There are so many new faces but it is fun to get to know everyone and how God brought them here. I am feeling a little sick. Probably due to the face that it was under 20 degrees in Germany and here it’s in the 70’s to 80’s. Yes, I am wearing shorts, a tshirt, and flip flops. It is glorious! Our hotel this week faces a gorgeous ocean and the food is amazing. We had some visitors from the ship today and they said to not get used to the food but enjoy it while we can, haha. And I plan too. Please continue to pray that God would give me energy and a hunger to know Him more each and everyday. Also for new friendships that I continue to make. I will try to post pictures soon but internet is proving to be difficult. Right now I sit in a tiny internet cafe during a break in our sessions. I wanted to send everyone a quick update. Love and miss you all! And thanks for your prayers
Hey girl!! So excited you made it. I’ve heard wonderful things about Singapore Air. Glad you got to travel with them. I’m so jealous of your flip-flops!! We are waiting to see if an ice storm comes tomorrow! Hopefuly, so I can make chocolate-chip pancakes!! hahah. So take in all the smells, sights, colors and sounds. Those make the best memories. Love you girl. Praying for friendships for you!! You are so welcoming, I know God will provide a community for you

Shorts and flip-flops! Amazing! We have our first snow day today! Finally.
I’ll post a picture on my blog so you can see it! I love you and I’m glad you’re travels are going well. Praying for you every single day! xo
I’m glad you made it there safely! Flip flops. I can’t even imagine. We’re getting freezing rain here. Yuck! Hopefully the roads won’t ice over until tonight, considering I’m at work. Enjoy your training and beautiful weather! Can’t wait to hear more as your journey really gets started!
i’m so jealous! we have snow and ice here…on the plus side, we’ve been out of work for two days now! i had a dream about the ship this weekend. adam and i were dropping you and his sister off at the ship (yep, we drove there in our car) and in the process of saying goodbye, we didn’t get off in time! we had to travel with you to the first stop before we could get off. too bad we were in another country and had no ID. somehow, of course, we made it back to the parking lot where our car was still parked. ha ha!
keep us posted as you get on the ship! we can’t wait!!!
hi friend. thanks for your prayers… a potentially shocking email will come soon
and when i saw the photo at the top of your blog i thought i was in the wrong place – that doesn’t look anything like you! amazing what straight hair and bangs can do.
miss you tons!! still haven’t thought of the saved by the bell teacher… making me CRAZY!!
I thank God for beautiful and kind people like you. May His love shine through you and touch the lives of everyone you meet in a glorious way. We will be praying for you continuously.
