Ship shape December 29, 2008
Exactly two weeks from today, I will be driving to Dulles International Airport and boarding a plane destined for Germany. After 10 days there, it’s off to the Philippines where I meet all the other ship newbies and go through training for 10 more days. So, in no time at all, I will be living on a ship (hopefully with no cockroaches…I hate cockroaches) for a year. It is so exciting to see God’s goodness and faithfulness. It’s been a looooong journey but how comforting to know I serve a Savior whos timing is perfect! There’s a lot of peace in that. Yes, there are lot of things I’ll miss (niece and nephews especially) but when you’re doing something that God has commanded you to do, it’s easy to find joy and contentment in that. Not to say that I don’t need your prayers though…I definitely do! What do you think the chances are of me finding people on board who are just as weird as I am?
