A trip to West Virginia… November 16, 2007

You know, this whole support thing isn’t as easy as it sounds.  Actually, it probably is because it sounds hard in the first place.  And it is.  Please keep praying not only for God to teach me things during the time of waiting but that the funds will also come through.

Last weekend I traveled with my friend Kim up to West Virginia.  Nathan, a friend from high school/college invited me to come and share at his church during their missions conference.  I’m pretty sure someone didn’t want us there.  A few days before leaving, my car suddenly would not go into gear.  The guy who normally works on it couldn’t get to it until Saturday (the day I needed to leave).  Thankfully, my dad had a friend who had some time to look at it and it turned out to be something kind of minor.  If you’re not a guy and into cars, you won’t care so I’ll spare you the details.  Then, I woke up Saturday morning with a horrible sore throat.  We left on schedule but I was struggling physically on the drive there.   We arrived before the meeting that night and I set up my table and wanted to just die.  I faked enthusiasm and shared for a few minutes that night.  I started getting feverish and still felt horrible so my gracious hosts let me go right to bed.  The next morning I shared a few more times before heading back to Lynchburg.  I felt bad that I wasn’t completely “there”.  I’m still fighting some of the sickness actually.  Still, it was a great time for me and I enjoyed being able to share about my trip with more people.

My latest newsletter (way past due) is completed and will be to you shortly.  If you’re not on my email list, just drop me a note and give me your contact information.  I’d be glad to add you!
